Kerry Burtnyk and Mike McEwen both improved their records to 4-and-2, after winning qualifiers Saturday morning at the Twin Anchors Invitational in Vernon, BC.

Burtnyk defeated Kelowna’s Jeff Richard 7-6 in the 8th end, while McEwen beat Ontario’s Glenn Howard 4-3.

On the women’s side, Kristy Jenion’s record fell to 1-and-4 after losing 8-1 to Denmark’s Angelina Jensen.

On the women’s side, Barb Spencer defeated Holly Scott in the B event Saturday afternoon to make it to the qualifier. Janet Harvey beat Jenna Loder (loader) 4-3, making it to the second qualifier game.

In men’s play, Reid Carruthers won Qualifier One 4-3 over Brad Haight, while David Bohn beat Jeff Stoughton 5-4 to take the other qualifier.
