The B.C. Seniors Games are being held in Richmond B.C. this September and Zone 11 will be represented by a number of athletes from Smithers, Houston, and Telkwa. The tournament will kick off September 16th and rap up the 19th, with over 80 participants involved in 5 events.

“There are some of us who have been in the Senior Games for years and its a good way to stay active and have a lot of fun while doing it,” said Olga Walker.

Representing Zone 11 will be Bert and Paula Prins with Ann Vandenhoek and Edna Quiring will be fighting fro the top spot in Carpet Bowling.

Jo Meeussen, Lue Montgomery, Bill Stad, and Darlene Thompson will be going after the Floor Curling championship, as well as Arnold and Trudy Amonson, Joe Smith and Sherry Smith going for the Ice Curling Championship.

Track and Field will be repersented by Adrian Meeukllssen, and Nipper Kettle will be in the Cycling division looking for gold.

All the athletes are looking forward to an exciting tournament and will hopefully be coming home with some hardware.
